About VirtualC64 emulates a Commodore 64 personal computer on your Macintosh. I started the project in 2006 to create a virtual CPU environment that can be used as a demonstrator program in a first or second year of computer technology. Over the years I have added more and more features and the accuracy of the emulation has steadily increased.
Despite one or two compatibility gaps, VirtualC64 is now able to run a large number of C64 programs without errors. The VirtualC64 project is based on three major goals. First of all, I am trying to achieve high compatibility by emulating all components cycle accurately. Secondly, I want to create a fun-to-use emulator that presents itself as user-friendly as it can get. Last but not least I am trying to maintain a well-documented and easy-to-read codebase that makes it easy to add new features. If you agree with VirtualC64's philosophy, you are welcome to join the project. The core emulator is written in C and the graphical user interface is a native Cocoa application written in Objective-C.
Please note that I don't want to port the emulator to any other operating system yet. VirtualC64 is open source software published under the GNU general public license.
Game/Movie: Alien. System: Atari. Developer: Fox Video Games. Year of Release: 1982. Graphics and Mechanics. I suppose you can say that both graphics and mechanics aretechnically present in Alien. Frodo is a Commodore 64 emulator for the Mac. Frodo was developed to reproduce the Commodore 64 with a higher degree of precision than existing emulators at the time. It has now been superceded by projects such as Power64, but nevertheless still provides a solid and functional emulation.
Ok so i have a comoodore 64 with a real 1541 floppy disk drive. Some times it reads floppies sometimes it doesnt i.esome floppies mainly the ones that came with the disk drive when i bought it will load but most dont and since i have no way of knowing if the floppy drive is bad or if its the actual floppy port on the C64 mobo i figured id buy an emulation device or flash device so i can just run all my C64 games/roms off said device but im not hip on what device is best im in the usa and mainly use my commodore 64 for playing games nothing else mainly floppy disk games. This best is a matter of opinion. I like the 1541 Ultimate II+.
However, there will be others that will say the TC64. Lastly, there is the SD2IEC/uIEC.
Does work with a lot but some games with specific fast loadrts have issues. This is the cheaper of the devices. Also, itself can be used as a regular drive (i.e.: Not just loading D64/G64). Also, I tend to load my EasyFlash cartridges with it. BTW, I really recommend getting JiffyDOS if at all possible. The SD2IEC has support for it built right in and you can load the drive Rom with the 1t4q Ultimate II.
